A public garden a stone's throw from the Josephine Tower, opened in 2003.
The park features children's play areas, a book box and a house of writers on the sea.
You will also see a memorial to those lost at sea dating from October 2013. This red marble sculpture, representing the bust of a sailor at the prow of a boat, was created by Chilean artist Mauricio Arancibia Cortez, who has his studio in Saint Gilles Croix de Vie. Based on a sketch by Vendée artist Paul Gandriau, the work was carved from a 9-tonne block of red marble from a quarry in Minervois (Aude).
