In the town's historic quarter, discover the church of Saint Nicolas, listed as a Historic Monument in 1956.
The Romanesque church of Saint-Nicolas de Brem dates back to before 1020 and was partially destroyed during the Wars of Religion. It is one of the oldest churches in the Vendée and one of the most beautiful medieval monuments in the department. This charming abbey church has a remarkable triangular pediment, wall frescoes and a 17th-century crucifix. On the portal, in the triangular pediment, you will see a statue of Saint Nicolas surrounded by mysterious motifs. Several studies have been carried out with different interpretations.
Open all year round, through the small door at the side.
