The Atelier Henry Simon - Les Rimajures is an ideal place to meet and discuss art. This structure, conceived and designed by Henry Simon to house his creative work, is now dedicated to his memory and open to a wide range of artistic practices.
Rimajures: the term rimajure is a Poitevin-Saintongeais word (rimajhure in standardised spelling), used in particular in the Breton marshlands, meaning drawing, ornament, decoration. The town of Saint Gilles Croix de Vie, wishing to preserve this emblematic site and maintain its artistic and heritage activities, has undertaken the renovation of the existing buildings and the construction of new areas:
- A functional reception area
- A new presentation of the collections of paintings, drawings and ceramics in the bourrine and an evocation of the artist's studio
- A new room for temporary exhibitions
- An art resource centre
- A creative space designed to accommodate artists in residence and groups for educational workshops
Visitors will also be able to explore the garden, a place for relaxation and artistic encounters, and travel to the heart of the work of this painter, ceramist and decorator.
Organised by the town of Saint Gilles Croix de Vie with financial support from the Intercommunal Tourist Office, the Communauté d'Agglomération du Pays de Saint Gilles Croix de Vie, the Département de la Vendée and the French government.

Open on public holidays from May to September.
Open to adult groups from September onwards by prior arrangement.
School groups in September by prior arrangement.
