Leaving from Landevieille, loop no. 17 offers you a rural outing by bike.
Between the sea and the hedged farmland, the village of Landevieille will be the starting point for this cycling loop. After a short passage through the town centre, the route will take you up to higher ground. This first section will offer a bit of a physical challenge with a few climbs, perfect for warming up your calves. But don't worry, there's plenty of nature to enjoy!
A few metres after the Lac du Jaunay campsite, the last short climb will bring you close to the Lac du Jaunay, before taking the long right that leads you to the crossing of the departmental road. Don't hesitate to make a short diversions to admire the Château de la Roche Guillaume. Near the main gate, an information terminal tells you all you need to know about the history of this beautiful building. The cycle path that runs alongside the estate takes you to the shores of Lac du Jaunay.
The return journey to Landevieille will take you along small, low-traffic roads. Back in the town centre, the route runs alongside the lake and leisure centre.
At the start of the walk or on the way back, be sure to visit the local church. This is a Latin cross church with a flat apse. The single nave has a panelled barrel vault. The building is sober. The façade features only a semi-circular portal with a small cornice and a clock. The whole is surmounted by the bell tower with its wooden spire.
