A small community of bargemen settled on the right bank of the River Vie at the end of the 16th century. Two districts came into being: Mothe Ruffée and Petite Ile. Their evolution over time would strongly anchor the maritime identity of Croix de Vie.

We invite you to take a stroll through the history and art of Croix de Vie and discover the diverse heritage left to us by the talented artists who are so attached to their homeland.
