Un Poyo Rojo, or in slang "a red rooster" for those who fight, has been playing to sold-out audiences for nearly ten years in Argentina, and in particular in a converted hangar in Buenos Aires that has become EL TEATRO DEL PERRO. There, nothing is done without a compelling need to exist.
In the male sportsmen's changing rooms, two guys engage in a hilarious sadomaso ballet. These changing rooms smell of dirty socks, cold steel and armpits. Two boys come in, rummage through their lockers, stare at each other a little, judge each other a lot. Long and thin, lean and muscular, they examine and judge each other. Two roosters before the battle. No words, no music. Just glances, a little radio, and then the fight. A frenetic dance, a sporting competition, a dogfight. They review all the modalities of human relations when they become bestial. Un Poyo Rojo tells the story of fear, seduction, warning, attack, destruction and desire.
