MASTERS DE PÉTANQUE

Saint Gilles Croix de Vie will be hosting the second stage of the Masters de Pétanque. This is the third year running that this international competition has been held in Saint Gilles Croix de Vie, featuring the greatest French and international champions, teams from all over the world and a local team. For pétanque fans, it's a chance to meet the world's top players in seven teams of four. On each stage, 8 teams will compete: the seven international teams and a local team with the best players who will represent Saint Gilles Croix de Vie. The Masters de Pétanque is played in triples, the most popular format in the sport. Each victory enables the teams to score valuable points in the overall ranking, as only the top 4 teams in the overall ranking at the end of the 7 stages will go through to the Final Four. All the stages of the Masters de Pétanque are free to enter.

Each team plays each other once in the quarter-finals, and the rest of the competition (semi-finals and final) is decided by drawing lots the day before each stage. Each victory enables each team to score valuable points in the overall ranking, as only the top 4 teams in the overall ranking at the end of the 7 stages will go through to the Final Four.
