The multimedia library is inviting you to take part in the 3rd edition of its short story competition.
The chosen theme will be announced online on 15 March. You will then have until 15 May 2024 to write a short story which, as in other years, must not exceed 3,000 characters (not including spaces).
This short story MUST begin with these 2 sentences:
"It was a cold, clear day in April. The clocks were striking thirteen", taken from a book by George Orwell.
This competition is open to everyone, in 3 categories: under 14s, 15/18s and adults. A prize will be awarded for each category. Full rules and regulations will be available on the media library website.
