The wooded dune of the Pays des Monts forest is a natural site protected by the Natura 2000 network.
This wooded dune, now preserved, is the result of the artificial afforestation of the dunes in the Pays de Monts in the 19th century. It is home to a unique fauna and flora, a rare natural heritage that is threatened at European level. Natura 2000 therefore funds installations around this environment to delimit access and prevent users from trampling this fragile area. To live in harmony with nature, make sure you use the designated parking areas, follow the footpaths, pick up your litter, don't pick the flowers and keep dogs on a lead on the paths.
