Wild and bordered by a rocky cove, famous for its surf spot, the Sauzaie beach is located to the north of Brétignolles sur Mer, a few kilometres to the south of the Petit Pont beach.
At low tide, many rocks are exposed. It's also one of the best-known surf spots in the Vendée at high tide.
To get to the beach from Brétignolles town centre, head towards the Corniche, then walk or drive along the seafront. The beach is located to the north of the corniche, below the esplanade (a must-see viewpoint on the corniche).
A favourite with experienced surfers from all over the world, it is one of the best spots in the Vendée (waves suitable for experienced surfers). It's also a beach dedicated to relaxation and swimming. Supervised beach in July and August.
