L’Apérose

Every year, when the sardine fishing season comes to an end, the Rose de Saint Gilles season takes over. Local and wild, the pink shrimp is fished from the end of September to the end of March, about 1 hour from the port.

To celebrate this tasty seafood product in style, the Tourist Office has decided to dedicate an annual gourmet and convivial event to it: the Apérose!

On the programme:

- Presentation of the Saint Gilles pink shrimp and the fishing industry.
- Visits to the shrimp trade and cooking huts (Vives Eaux and Viviers de Noirmoutier).
- Shrimp peeling competition.
- Tasting: Rose de Saint Gilles and Brem wines.

Practical information:

- Booking compulsory, from 31/10/2024, online or at the Saint Gilles Croix de Vie tourist information office.
- Adult tasting: large plate of prawns + bread and butter and 1 glass of Brem wine.
- Children's tasting: small plate of prawns + butter bread and 1 water syrup.
