LA BALISE – Zaï Zaï

In their new production, Collectif Mensuel paint a portrait of a breathless, brain-dead society, where constant media coverage and sterile indignation prevent the emergence of any thought, not even critical thought, but simply independent thought, and continuously propagate a shapeless, abysmal void of blah, blah, blah.
In the form of an absurd and delirious road-movie, Zaï Zaï tells the story of a man who, because he forgot his shop loyalty card (when it was in his other pair of trousers), becomes the main subject of the media narrative and finds himself in turn public enemy No. 1, symbol of a new freedom, media darling, then martyr trapped in a game that is beyond him.
