The 22 Dec 2024

Christmas carols accompanied by musicians.

The Commequiers "Chorale et Amis de l'Orgue" association is holding its traditional "Christmas Concert" on Sunday 22 December at 4pm in the church of Saint-Pierre in Commequiers. This year, the Commequiers association has invited Sophie DESMARS, a lyric singer from Nantes who has performed as a soloist in several prestigious European opera houses, and Jacques Gandard, founder and 1st violinist of the Bedrich Quartet, composer, keyboardist and choirmaster.

An innovative formula has been chosen for this year's concert, involving the audience and amateur singers from the Commequiers choir in the production of the concert.

The Commequiers organ will sing Christmas carols and accompany the singers under the baton of Jean-Michel Dieuaide, titular organist and former Maître de Chapelle at Notre Dame de Paris.

The programme will include traditional Christmas carols and sacred works by Schütz, Bach, Mozart, Grieg and Franck.

There will be a free ticket at the end of the concert. The church will be heated.
