AMGLO OU LA VIE DE NARCISSE PELLETIER – LA CONSERVERIE

"In the oral tradition, it is often said that it is the story that chooses its interpreter. This story of a white savage, which I didn't know, grabbed hold of me the first time I heard it. Narcisse's journey reminds me of those emigrant children forced to abandon everything, to learn another language and adapt their story to the host country in order to be heard and accepted (...) My theatrical proposal will be that of a journey reconstructed from anthropological works, novels and memory collections. Through the interplay of actor, storyteller and musician, I want to tell the story of someone who has not been able to tell his own story by giving voice to the dead and the living who have spoken and written about him over the last 130 years. - Gérard Potier -

Written and performed by Gérard Potier, with music by François Marillier, this one-and-a-quarter-hour show will be staged at the Salle de la Conserverie.
