LA BALISE – Portrait

The choreographer has chosen the subject of family heritage as his choreographic material. Through the electrified bodies of a tribe of dancers from different backgrounds, he gives us his version of the happy, embarrassing, toxic and absent family.
How do you escape from it or, on the contrary, take refuge in it? How do you assert your individuality within a family you didn't choose? The relationships evolve and the personalities stand out as the sequences unfold, in isolation, in duets or in ensemble scores, to the rhythm of Lucie Antunes's organic music.
This portrait, which takes the form of an exploration between the image in the frame and the bonds imposed on us, reveals a contemporary family photograph through a mosaic of temperaments and energies.
