LA BALISE – Birds on a wire

All three share the same sense of mystery and powerful yet delicate dreamlike imagery (musical and vocal on the one hand, pictorial and landscaped on the other); the same taste for things that can revive memories of enchantment in the spectator's mind; for that mirror through which dreams and the imaginary can pass: on the other hand, the mythologies of childhood continue to live on. Grimm is not far away at times, including when it comes to breathing new life into songs by Bob Dylan, Tom Waits or Jacques Brel.
The duo will land somewhere in the heart of a deep forest.
In the middle of a clearing, next to a tree, to show us the songs from their new show. A ray of light - moonbeam or sunbeam - peeking through the foliage. The rustle of wings, an apparition, a night bird, other creatures, twirling leaves, a warming fire. Voices will speak in the distance, a song in the forest will answer them...
A circle, a transformation, a tree, the seasons: with this new show, audiences will rediscover the atmosphere of children's nursery rhymes and ritornellos from elsewhere, sometimes from very far away. As well as forgotten songs of Venetian love, or French songs from the Renaissance.
To evoke the phantasmagorical world of childhood memories, to address an ode to nature, to float between dreams and nightmares, to journey into mystery and finally, to let yourself go in wonder.
