A complete Gravel circuit for cycling in green and peaceful surroundings!
As the name suggests, the route takes you to the surprising Garreau chapel at La Chapelle-Hermier. Before meeting it, the route takes you along the Brétignolles-sur-Mer coastline and through the Brem-sur-Mer vineyards. Before taking a closer look at the vines, the route will take you to the gates of the church of Saint-Nicolas de Brem, one of the oldest in the Vendée (built in the 11th century). We particularly recommend that you put the bike down for a visit.
After a short stroll through the vineyards, the communes of Vairé, Saint-Julien-des Landes, Martinet and La Chapelle-Hermier will roll out the red carpet for you, with a pleasant palette of landscapes typical of the local bocage.
Once you've been introduced to the famous chapel, you'll have to negotiate a steep climb to reach the second part of the route. On the way back, the route is very gentle and easy via the L'Aiguillon-sur-Vie and Givrand footpaths. Ideal for making the most of the scenery!
