As part of the Festival La Déferlante, a number of shows are on offer:
Wednesday 9 July: Parc du Terre-Fort, 6.30pm. "Loup y es-tu?" by the company Les Royales Marionnettes. Street theatre and puppets. Lasts 50 minutes, free of charge. A new mayor has been unanimously elected. He swore, promised and spat: "No more Big Bad Wolf here! The result? He banned access to the woods and armed the hunter with a bazooka. And that's all there is to it! Everyone feels safe, and it doesn't matter if you have to show your passport to go outside.
Friday 18 July: Place François Mitterand, 9pm. "Presqu'égal" by the company Le Petit Théâtre de Pain. Theatre performance. Running time 1h30, free. A funny, gritty contemporary comedy about the world of capitalism, its anti-heroes and our schizophrenic relationship with money.
Thursday 24 July: Parking de la Faye, 9pm. "Mort ou Vif" by the Silembloc company. Farwest and rock'n'roll circus. Lasts 1 hour, free of charge. Under the reflection of a gleaming scythe, there are five of them, lost between life and death. Oblique glances; staring at a noose trying to stay afloat; the creaking of a rocking chair; dry throats... Who will be next?
Wednesday 30 July: La Parée Verte, 9pm. "Virils" by the company Les Barjes. Street theatre. Duration: 1 hour, free of charge. Two brothers, seemingly at odds with each other, share the same dream: to put on a show in tribute to their father. Combining exploits, risk-taking and technical prowess, their story is told through their patriarchal heritage. A tender mix of failed performances and lame challenges.
Wednesday 13 August: Esplanade de la Baritaudière, 9pm. "La Bande à Tyrex" by the company La Bande à Tyrex. Cycling and musical ballet. Duration: 1 hour 20 minutes, free of charge. A twirling, musical cycling ballet featuring nine artists. It rolls, it piles up, it stacks up, it speeds up, it skids. The wheels are spinning, the vitality is buzzing. The Bande à Tyrex take the bicycle and turn it into an infinite variety of forms, balances and imbalances.
Monday 18 August: Îlot Jeanne-d'Arc, 9pm. "Bal autour du monde" by the Transbal Express company. World music. Duration 1h30, free. Embark on a world tour in song, like a fairground circus travelling through towns and villages. Popular and insatiable, it draws inspiration from its travels and ancestral repertoires, from Eastern Europe to the Caribbean, from Japan to Benin, borrowing from current trends and making cultures, languages and sounds dance.
Monday 25 August: Îlot Jeanne-d'Arc, 9pm. "En Bal et Vous!" by the Astor et la Patronne company. Offbeat ball. Duration 2h30, free of charge. An original, contemporary ball with an orchestra and dancers ready to electrify you with revisited hits and lots of humour!
Wednesday 27 August: Cour de Baisse, 9pm. "La symphonie des Chauves-souris" by the Mycélium company. Street arts. Lasts 1 hour, free of charge. A mix of joyful science, poetic texts and electronic music, the company invites you to exchange signs with the bats using an ultrasound detector to sing and make music with them during an initiatory evening.
