85800 SAINT-GILLES-CROIX-DE-VIE
A not-to-be-missed event featuring two renowned speakers: Cyril Dion, writer-director, and Philippe Grandcolas, ecologist and director of research at the CNRS. Registration is now open!
Meet two renowned speakers:
How can biodiversity provide solutions for adapting our regions to global warming? How can we all play a part on a daily basis? To answer these questions, two renowned speakers will share their scientific and educational contributions: Philippe Grandcolas, director of research at the CNRS and an ecologist, and Cyril Dion, writer-director best known for his film "Demain", which won a César award in 2015. To extend the discussion, the evening will end with a book signing and sale, in partnership with the Gillocrucian bookshop Les Oiseaux Voyageurs.
A look back at the Atlas Biodiversité Communale :
Katia Viel, mayor of Saint Hilaire de Riez, and François Blanchet, mayor of Saint Gilles Croix de Vie, will jointly open this meeting, which will be an opportunity to look back at the Atlas Biodiversité Communale (ABC) of their respective towns, with the participation of the LPO 85. The result of multi-partner work, these ABCs are a genuine decision-making tool to help integrate biodiversity conservation more effectively into public policy. With the support and mobilisation of experts, local stakeholders and local residents, they provide a precise map of the flora and fauna in our territories. This will help us to better understand, preserve and promote our natural heritage. Winners between July 2021 and June 2024, Saint Hilaire de Riez and Saint Gilles Croix de Vie are among the pioneering communes in the Vendée to have responded to the call for projects for this scheme, which is subsidised by the Office Français de la Biodiversité (OFB), the European Union-NextGenerationEU and France Relance.
Practical information: Doors open at 7.30pm - Amphitheatre of the Maison Familiale Rurale (MFR).
Pre-registration online.
